What is all about the Pratipada Shraddha –

 

The Pratipada Shraddha is also known as padwa Shraddha and shraddhi purnima. On this day of Shraddha, tarpan is performed for those who left this world on pritipada tithi, including both Shukla and Krishna paksha pratipada.

 

It is also considered sitable to perform shradha for maternal grandparents (grandmother, grandfather, grand grandfather or grand grandmother).

 

If there is no kanda to perform shradha at meternal house then doing shradha on this tithi appeases souls of maternal grandparents (grand grandfather, grand grandmother, grandmother and grandfather).

 

The Pitra paksha shradhas are parvan Shradhas and ausipicious time to perfome it is either kutup Muhurat or rohin, that why, Muhurat after till aparahana kaal get out. Tarpan is done at the end of the Shraddha.
