Ramnavami is celebrated in India twice in a year. And it’s celebrated as the 10th day of Navratri. On this auspicious day, all the temple belongs to Lord Rama are decorated beautifully.


A number of people visit temple to worship and taking blessing of Lord Rama on this day. It’s the last day of Navratri and that’s why Bhandara (Prasad) is distributed among the people on a large scale.


It’s the Birthday of Lord Rama


Ramanavami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Rama. Devotees who have great firm in Lord Rama take fast on this day to offer gratitude to him.


Lord Rama was the embodiment of Lord Vishnu and on this day, he took birth on the earth. And that’s why this festival is considered very auspicious.


Lord Rama is widely known for following the way of truth. It’s believed that people of the state of Lord Rama were very happy and that’s why it was called RAM RAJYA. Lord Rama teaches us to believe in justice, love and humanity. Serving others and sharing the pain is the true worship of Lord Rama.


How Ramanavami is celebrated


People get early in the morning and take a bath. They worship Lord Rama while other head towards temple in order to take the blessings. They fast on this auspicious day and eat only fruits and dairy products. On this auspicious day, devotees keep chanting bhajan, Mantra, Katha of Lord Rama.


A number of Bhakti Programmes are organized in the temples. Devotees organized Bhandara and distribute Prasad among the people and the needy. Distributing Prasad is considered very auspicious on this day. People wear new clothes on this day. It’s celebrated after nine days of Navratri.


And the first day of Navratri falls on the first day of Hindi New Year. It means people who wish to kick off their new year in a unique manner and with taking the blessings of the Lord Rama always prefer to go along with Ramnavami Puja.


Benefits of celebrating Ramanavami
