Why Chandra grahan occurs?
The reason of Chandra is said to be the galloping of moon by rahu or ketu and why this happen is because of a story which is filled with treachery but was important for the betterment of everything we know today.
Actually rahu and ketu are the body and head part one complete demon swarbhanu who was the only asura who ever drank amrit and the story of this clash began at the time of the churn of ocean in which devtas first agreed to share the amrit with asura the demons but then disagreed when it finally came out and seeked help of bhagwan Vishnu.
And he incarnated as a beautiful women menaka and tricked the demons with water instead of amrit and only one asura was sharp enough to realize what was happening and sat next to chandra dev and surya dev and drank amrit but was soon discovered by chandra and surya to vishnu and he beheaded him and head became rahu and body became ketu and both take their revenge on chandra and surya time to time.
